Boost regional production chain
Under the Initiative for the Integration of Regional Infrastructure in South America (IIRSA), both in Paraguay and in Brazil, specifically in the State of Paraná, is carried out a pilot scheme to determine what areas the two countries can create productive chains and what infrastructure is needed for this. This plan provides for the Asunción-axis Paranagua.
In this regard, the Paraguayan side, both the Red Investment and Export (REDIEX) through the Bureau of Logistics, as the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, the National Transportation (Dinatrán), working in a survey data with the private sector, to know what sectors or areas they want to integrate with the producers of the State of Parana, in the shaft.
Eduardo Clari well informed, director of business environment of the office of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), who explained further that the State of Paraná, with the support of Brasilia, performs the same work with producers in the area.
He noted that in February, as part of a workshop to take place between the two countries, and is expected to have the list of areas in which such integration can pursue productive and what infrastructure will be needed.
"This is a true integration of production, ie not try to buy and sell products, but of integration. For example, in the case of birds, the corn will be sent first to Santa Catarina, possibly, has the technology, there will for Paraguay, which will be cold with the Brazilians, with their know-how, the chicken fat goes here and here for Chile and Asia, "he said.
He said that with the help of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) identified the area and production chains that are intended to integrate, such as birds, pigs, biofuels, forestry, auto and so on. "That is what we think and in a real map to see how the existing infrastructure, or what might be missing, because if I go to Brazil to integrate, for example, in the pig and I am going to grow soybeans advantage, such infrastructure is to suffer an overload. So we have to see where they are going to be bottlenecks when production will grow at double or triple within 10 years, "he explained.
He added that this study is that it is in both countries through consultations with the private sector.
"First is a methodology that will be used in any chain you want to integrate with another country, because it is already raised to do with Uruguay and Argentina, but specifically for February will be certain channels, which actually can be built, what will the private sector infrastructure and what needed to be strengthened. This is unprecedented, is the first time that we work in a real integration between countries, "he said.
As to funding, has said that IIRSA projects are structured in the next two years, including Brazil and Paraguay. "What is that if a new infrastructure, we must seek, but for that, especially now in this crisis, we are active members of the CAF, where we have a loan portfolio of $ 290 million and that more is going to infrastructure. Infrastructure projects that already have your business plan armed silver is because they know it is profitable. This will be elevated to the two Governments will have to boost their support, "he said.
